There are 5 or 6 switches in a cluster on my 18yr old washer. It quit mid- cycle, and I found by jiggling the wires I could get it to finish. Took the whole switch cluster to my local parts guy after making some digital photos of the wiring so I could get it back together. He found one bad micro switch and had it in stock for $2.50. Put it in and the washer has been good for another 5 yrs.
Point is, the current appliances seem to run with one circuit board which costs almost as much as the appliance to replace. Think I'd like to avoid...
