I'd simply ask the salvage yard for an assurance you can return them within a day or two. Then take them to any tire shop and have them spin them to see if they are round. Thye should only charge you $5-$8 per rim to check them. Personally I'd rather mount a tire on a rim with a bunch of curb scratches than one that is not round. Out of round salvaged alloy wheels with flat spots can be trued - but it usually cost more than the wheel itself.
