I have one of the three known 77 EMS Turbos in left North America....I believe that she was the last of the pre-production cars off of the line (she may be #975 or 976....it's been a while since I've been out to see her). Currently, she is not running; she has been sitting for a very long time and needs a wheels up restoration. Mine is a three door. She has some interesting bits, like water injection, which was added when she was owned by Saab and single Euro headlights. I don't know when the headlights were added.

The other two known pre-production turbos are a two door notchback, owned by Rich Kushner of Marietta, Pennsylvania, and another three door which is in really rough shape. The other three door is owned by Marty Adams of Meyer, Iowa.

To my knowledge, there were no four door pre-production turbos. There were about 10 production five door Turbos built for the British market back in 1978, but prior to 1979, those were the only four or five door Turbos known to have been built by Saab.
