Off the top of my head, in the first 75K miles, I can remember my 02 9-5 needing the SID repaired, the heater bypass valve replaced ($400 because it had to be towed), the infamous ignition problem taken care of under recall (just after I bought a replacement unit to have on hand for if it failed--still have it), a couple PVC upgrades and a headlight relay fixed. There have been other problems since.
OTOH, my 05 Toyota Tacoma had the outside temp display fail, which was fixed for $49.95, (kind of like the SID repair, an outfit repairs it inexpensively--a soldering job--while the Toyota dealer replaces it for about $800) and a parking light burned out. That's it for 76K miles. Routine oil changes at the dealer are $36.90--and they replaced the burned out bulb for the price of the bulb.
Our '93 Accord had zero repairs in the first 100K. At about that time the water pump started to leak and when my wife drove it into the parking lot of the shop to get it fixed, the master cylinder failed. We had it for another 20K miles with no problems.
When we replace the SAAB, it will be with a Japanese car, maybe an Avalon.
