Just today I found this on a Volvo I changed the coolant expansion tank on in June.
It is a Nordic brand and when I received and looked at them they looked like they came from the same manufacturer as the original with the same type of writing and font style as the genuine. On the bottom was a little square plate with the Volvo part number but not the Volvo name like we see many times with genuine parts that has come from another line with either the name removed or not printed.
It looks like the plastic is too brittle and can't take the heat cycles and expansion of the metal reinforcement sleeve inside.
My sales person advised me not to use another Nordic tank since they had many comebacks of them (12% so far).
And it's only about $8.00 less then genuine so there you have it. Life is like a box of chocolate.
