I think the weight is a big part of it, but I probably mainly just need to get used to the 9-5 - it is my wife's dd, and I use it mainly on road trips... she thinks it warms up faster than the 1989 (but it's not actually true - she just forgets to crank the heat on the 1989 which I leave virtually off or I'd roast - no ACC back then, have to turn a knob!)... anyway, I like her to have the newer "nicer" car...
I actually have had a couple random incidents of the classic ABS controller failure symptoms in the 9-5 (turn on = xmas tree dash, turn off, turn on, fine thereafter)... maybe I should pull the module "just to check" ;-)...
I'd probably run 15" except that I have a newer arc with the bigger brakes, so I've gone as narrow as I think is ok (205's on 16" wheels)... probably wider is better for stopping on ice anyway...
