You have a clean record, which works wonders sometimes. It's gotten me off a few times. And the cop may not show, which is always nice.

You need to carefully describe the situation and be able to do it succinctly and briefly. Mention the behavior of the Taurus and that the ticket said "estimated." That may cast doubt on which car the cop was actually targeting. With Lidar they don't always know in some situations.

As for the Cruze, the cop might say you could have just slowed down to get the Cruze driver to back off. But you can counter with the fact that he was so close and being aggressive so you were afraid he would hit your car. You can say he'd been drafting your for a couple of miles and wouldn't go away.

And this all may be negotiable, too. I got off for 45 in a 30 (empty back road, no driveways, no traffic) by saying yeah, I was going 45, but was not familiar with that road, didn't know it was a 30, and they gave me 6 months probation as I had a good record. Ticket went away in 6 months.

Dress nice, be polite. Have a copy of your driving record if you can. And FWIW, many insurance companies will often ignore a single ticket, so don't sweat that part yet. You'll be fine.
