I would have thought friction would take over as it has in the past. However, I recently had one strip on me for the first time . Maybe it was a failure of the torque wrench or a defect in the shaft hex head. I even tried torquing relying solely on friction. Then the shaft just spun.
With a stripped hex, can the damper be reused or is the only option to use an impact wrench to take it apart without the ability to reinstall it.
