This reminds me of a story I read while back. Coke and Pepsi use a colorant to color their soda that ugly poop color, both of them were using colorant that had been found to contain trans fat, and California (the only state to enforce) a change in their colorant so their product does not use the trans. fat (which is found to cause cancer) Cali gave the two soda companies a year or 2 for compete the change. Which was required for California only. by the end of 2012 Coka cola not only changed the colorant they were using for Cali but also changed it for the entire U.S. and said it wouldn't make economical sense to carry two different colorant. Pepsi on the other hand has not changed their colorant and last I heard still use the trans.fat colorant and they just pay the yearly fine.

Stupid if you ask me. What would the beverage look like if no colorant was added. I`m sure it wouldn't be any worse than what it looks like now.

I was shocked to find out they want the cola to look like that.
