definition of dealer? Our dealer closed and moved when GM sent out "the letter" way back when. It was originally a Saab/Saturn next to a Pontiac/Buick/GMC of the same name. "The letter" decimated them, as a competing GM dealer got all the GM product. The place they moved to was to sell another brand, used cars, and service Saabs (and other brands). The location was terrible (not hard to get to, but not anywhere near other dealerships). In the VM days, they had a lot full of 9-3's, NG9-5's, and another brand, but the showroom could have had tumble weed blowing through it. There was almost never any customers... I doubt they sold a single NG9-5! I was much more interested in the 9-3x. Those should have sold like hotcakes here (snowbelt, many many subaru outback/forester drivers, and those often cost almost as much as the 9-3x here! terrible marketing imho)... Then they became a NAPA service center that services Saabs. I've been there a couple times in the past 3-4 years, only to order cut keys. The service bays still seem to have saabs going through, but outside the service area, the place is mostly deserted! Most of the Canadian dealerships have gone through tough times, though some of the more long-term Saab-enthusiast ones are still selling used Saabs (along other brands) and doing all they can to bridge the possibly un-ending gap... I give them credit for trying, but I can't imagine buying a used saab at one of those dealerships for 3x what I can buy it for in the classifieds!
I only take our saabs to our saab indy for repairs (or diy). I did that anyway (before "the letter" and GM bankruptcy), but even more so once the pontiac folks started doing saabs under a Napa banner... I'm sure some of the saab techs are still there, but my indy is a great saab tech, so I'd rather support his business.
