if they were shipping cars to the USA (which they are not)...
as discussed elsewhere in the thread, while it is true that 279k SEK = $42k USD today, the price the car would sell for in the US would most likely be different and not so simply related, as there are completely different markets, rules, taxes, duty, shipping, etc etc...
I thought there were still some dealers left in the USA? Also, there are a few former Saab dealers in Canada that sell other brands, and used Saabs, and will probably gladly take up the new cars if and when they become available. Will it immediately be like the GM days? Nope. But that's probably a good thing imho. Many of those dealers were pretty mediocre anyway...
that they are not only selling cars in China is nice - the fact that in about a week, Swedes will be able to order a Saab is pretty cool.
Oh, and by the time the car hits the USA, the engine will probably be different anyway (if it is true that they are using up old engines for now and switching to the H engine thereafter)...
