As per my wife's youngest brother........ Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 8 Mar 2014 07:49:31 In Reply to: Re: Welcome Back!, ian, Thu, 6 Mar 2014 12:23:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
He works as a mechanic for a Utility Company where he maintains all equipment from the large diesel trucks and construction equipment to the light duty pick-ups and meter reader cars. He told me over the Labor Day holidays that GM has stopped using the Tech-II device and instead is using a software tool loaded on laptops. Apparently Vektronix (sp?) will not even repair any of the Tech-II devices except the few still under warranty.
So another double whammy to maintaining a Saab. No diagnostic tools available (maybe), no hardware support for the remaining tools (maybe). Vektronix was replaced by Bosch as the supplier of Tech-II devices somewhere near the end of their run as GM's diagnostic tool.
