I wouldn't like to give up the progression of seasons we get here
in the north east quadrant of the country. Spring, summer, fall,
and winter are all very different and each have some things to love and
some to hate. In a good year each is long enough so that after a month
or two you're read for the next season. Goes double for this winter!
Plus you sort of get to travel without going anywhere.
During the winter, where we live is a very different place than it is
in the middle of the summer -- different look, different sounds, different
smells, different activities. We're lucky enough to have a lot of streets
lined with deciduous trees that change from scraggly monsters to lush
green tunnels in a couple of weeks. And back again after 8 or so months!
With the kids out of the house we're not so in-tune with the annual
school cycle, so without the seasons how are you going to know when
a year has gone by?
