So I was coming back through the Oakland airport after a visit to my long time hippie friends in Sonoma. I had neglected to put my "cooking herb" can back in my luggage and had it in my carry on. The x-rayed my carry on and got very interested and started tearing into it and found my little metal tobacco box. The plump pimple faced TSA inspection kid opened the box while I'm standing just a few feet to the side of the main corridor with crowds walking by and it was quite aromatic. I said "oh that's my cooking herbs" and he reached in and said I see it! It was a pair of small scissors used for trimming and once he pulled them out he held the can up high in his other hand and waved it around. He looked at the scissors which had rounded safety tips and he said they were OK, put the back in the can and handed it back to me to be on my way.... Whew, close call. I don't think the TSA kid knew the distinct smell of medicinal herbs and I was very surprised and relieved to continue on my way.....
