When I was in the business I used watch customers run themselves through a wringer to get THE deal. The fact is every dealer in the country pays pretty much the same for the same car. And they have comparable operating costs. So there really isn't going to be that much difference in what you pay, all things being equal. Yes you can save money on demos, year end cars, used lease turn-ins, etc. but you're getting something that isn't quit the same as new. I got a demo with 4,000 miles on it to save a few bucks when I bought my '11 Wrangler and it wasn't exactly what I wanted. Always kind of regretted it. So when I bought my '14 I got it exactly the way I wanted it. If you've going to pony up what it takes to buy new, don't cut corners. If you really like it and keep it for a long time, that's where you make up for it. Shop a couple of local dealers, find a car optioned the way you want it, get a price from their online salesperson and go buy it. Life is short, don't make it brain surgery. Also, I believe you can buy below cost if you join "Tread Lightly" or one of those Jeep clubs. Check one of the Jeep forums.
