Therein lies the problem with warranty claims...how many things will they break replacing the warrantied part. For minor items under warranty on my other car I've decided not to have them fixed as my chosen dealer has demonstrated a real destructive approach to replacing parts.. If its a way to minimize warranty claims/work it sure worked on me.
I agree with your approach...they can have their loaner back in 4 weeks when they find the problem. Let's hope they've worked on enough Civics to
be able to figure it out. I know my beloved Saab dealer knew all the Saabs like the back of their hands. I suspect Saabs, with fewer models, were better understood.
