and because the boiler runs year around it is much quieter, because it's usually at operating temp and expansion /contraction is minimized. We don't completely run out of hot water either, it gets cooler but never cold. Our 60 gallon tank can now fill the 80 gallon jacuzzi tub with hot water. The biggest thing for me was to get rid of a combustion source in the utility closet. Most of the heat goes up the stack in a normal gas fired hot water heater. The boiler is just a better way to heat water. If your water heater is more than 5 years old I would replace it.
