Rare not yet, but hobby car, sure!
I guess I'm old enough to remember that the term "Foreign Car" meant
something different and exciting. A friend of my dad had a Karman Ghia
convertible -- now that was a foreign car. There was a Land Rover dealer
a couple of towns over, again another strange and wonderful vehicle.
Today 'foreign' car is close to meaningless. Right now I own a Ford
built in Mexico and a Toyota built (I think) in Kentucky.
A C900, especially a convertible, with it's backward engine, key on
the floor, and lots of other slightly nonstandard features is something
quirky enough to keep a lot of people interested despite ongoing
maintenance and frustrations getting parts. I guess for me that's what
a hobby car is. Certainly not an investment -- for investments go to
Fidelity or Vanguard.
