Totally agreed - I can do fairly long trips without issue - though I am confident I couldn't do 15 hours! - and I know people who can't. Hell, sometimes I'm not into the drive and I find it difficult to stay focused. In those situations, I stop. Get some good, go for a walk, whatever is necessary to bring the focus back.
I also agree that cruise control and lane assist and all those other helpers are really great. But they are there for to compliment your own good driving and not supplement your own bad driving. Sure, sometimes I have pushed myself too far and drifted off speed or lane and it would have been really nice to have such feature to save me rather than relying on luck. But in *either* case, I'd still be pulling over and not pushing on.
It scares the piss out of me to think people in science fiction luxo boats on the road out there think these systems are there to turn them into ironman drivers. They are NOT. They are there to save you from momentary indiscretions and unexpected problems. "They keep me in my lane and prevent me from driving 100mph" is madness, and as someone sharing the road with people with that mentality I'm terrified.
