I was just discussing this on "Other Cars." Driving nose to tail with the 80 mph plus crowd is very stressful. The 72-75MPH bunch isn't much different since that's what the majority does. But keeping it at 70MPH is a whole other world. We head across the state on Friday night nearly every weekend which means three hours of rush hour traffic, starting in Detroit, following with Lansing and then Grand Rapids. At 70mph it's like we have the road all to ourselves, it's amazing. All of those bunches of cars just go right by us and then disappear. We go miles without passing anyone. And I agree about all of the available aids--I like them all. One of the things I was taught when I got my pilots license was to be very mindful of fatigue and stress. Reduce your work load as much as possible with autopilot (on aircraft) and any resource you have. But slowing down is one of the best things you can do--it gives you more time to respond to tricky situations.
