I remember a few years ago the same thing unfolding in Arizona. Guy had collected a bunch of cars, eminent domain or somesuch, and they all got scrapped because the guy who owned them waffled between "not for sale" and "too much money" until the gubment finally came for them. I imagine the mindset that gets you into "dozens of broken cars littered on a parcel" is the same one that gets you into "shredded and not sold." Really too bad!
