well after your post & before I responded I also looked at some Alfa forums & the prices quoted for oil changes were most quite cheaper than those! As for the Alfa dealer network? It's not very old we can expect some variance and sadly, America sure seems to have an issue w/ more dealers being dishonest/greedy than in the UK and Europe! It is difficult to believe that one post saying they only replaced the exhaust and did not do the 16 point check ! what I have a hard time believing is he is such a milktoast weak consumer ! why didn't he say something to/at the dealership yet he can complain on a forum? He should name and shame the dealer and tell FCA corporate! I have always preferred a good indie shop but sometimes w/a new(er) car, one must use a dealer due to warranty issues! but, As for oil changes, it's all irrelevant as we CAN do our own oil changes, and will! ( PS our new Range Rover Evoque has an under motor cover too. You just take it off , service & and then put it back on! Not terribly difficult! we have to be adept and change w/ the times! no point in being a stubborn old curmudgeon Luddite is there ? ) An oil filter was $15 but the drain plug has a captured rubber O ring you cannot change so a new $8 drain plug every time! I know we usually do oil changes every 5K miles but most new vehicles go for 10 K now between changes! - Oil is better now! And most new vehicles hold more oil nowadays than the paltry, pathetic inadequate 4 qts in our Saabs! - and I fixed that on mine! fitted a REALLY big filter that holds an extra quart! The extra fine, added filter bypass filter kits like the one Amsoil sells are a great idea - but you can make up your own a lot cheaper if you are handy!
