Last year I mentioned a dream of mine on this very board, that of operating my G-G-G-Grandfather's Muley type Sawmill which has been a display in Henry Ford's Greenfield Village since the early 30's when he bought it from my ancestors.
The Brain Trust identified two other Muley type Saw Mills where I may be able to apprentice as being a Muley Mill Sawyer, one in Wisconsin at Wade House Museum and the other in Upper Canada Village near Cornwall ONT. (I have actually been to Cornwall a few times when working for my previous employer).
Today I learned from a Researcher at the Henry Ford, who contacted me regarding additional information on their Tripp Saw Mill, that these three Muley type Mills (the Wade House Village Mill, Henry Ford's Tripp Saw Mill, Upper Canada Village's Beach's Mill) are the last three surviving Muley type Mills in North America - and potentially the Western Hemisphere.
Wow! Only three left in North America and the Saabnet Brain Trust knew the locations of all three.
