Sobering consequences of the GM-UAW Strike Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 9 Oct 2019 17:13:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I heard the following from my wife. She heard it from one of her closest friends. The friend heard it from her husband when he arrived home from work today. The husband is a Toolmaker at a FCA Engine Plant.
Fiat-Chrysler is being forced to curtail engine production because key suppliers of trans-marque common parts in the Detroit area have entered bankruptcy from loss of their GM business during the strike. Absence of engines will stop FCA assembly plants within a day or so.
Assuming this is true, it makes one wonder what will remain of US auto manufacturing capability following conclusion of the strike?
