Many of you know me as the founder of The Saab Network which I created on the Internet in 1988. I also founded the non-profit, Poverty2Prosperity.org, in 2008 to make 0% interest loans to those stuck in poverty around the world. This is our #GivingTuesday announcement. I hope you can read it and, if possible, share it too. Thanks!
#GivingTuesday is coming this December 3rd. We're going to be focusing on our 0% interest loans for Education We're hoping you'll consider P2P's Education Fund. See the compelling details below about what we're working on in this area! Please share! P2P is 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt organization. Donations to any of our funds are tax deductible.
Over the 10+ years that Poverty2Prosperity.org (P2P) has been making zero-percent interest loans to the working poor around the world, we’ve been able to expand our portfolio of funds from not only supporting entrepreneurs, but to also include some special areas that we believe are also critical in alleviating poverty (e.g. personal housing, youth (24 & under), women, USA borrowers, single parents). This #GivingTuesday (December 3rd) we will be focusing our fundraising efforts towards our Education Fund.
P2P established the Education Fund in 2015 which is dedicated to making loans for education and tuition fees. We believe that another way to break the cycle of poverty is by obtaining a solid education and providing resources for educators to help those seeking an education. Those who are given the opportunity to obtain an education earn more, have children later, and have fewer children, which all increase resources available to the children that they do have. This also helps mothers and babies/children to be healthier. An education not only helps the current generation, but helps the next one too as they too are more likely to be educated. To date, the Education Fund is closing in on its 1,000th loans (933 loans so far) and has a repayment rate of 99.43%. We’re hoping you’ll consider P2P’s Education Fund in your #GivingTuesday generosity. Our most recent loan is to Andrea Diana in Paraguay who studies computer engineering. “By means of her studies, she wants to clear a path to the working world, and with this also be able to be useful to her family. She currently works in a bar while she is in school, and she says that her goal is to be able to finish her studies in the best way and to be able to achieve her goal of being someone in life.”
P2P is a 100% volunteer organization and because of that, we have been able to put over 97% of all donations directly into making loans. When a repayment is made, 100% of it is put right back out in the form of new loans. That means donations made today, could continue making loans in the future for nearly 100 years.
Put Poverty2Prosperity.org on your calendar for December 3rd (#GivingTuesday) and help us reduce poverty around the world by putting Education within the reach of many of those struggling to live on just a few dollars a day!
If you see a fund that better suits your interests, we have several others from which to choose: a General Fund for entrepreneurship, a USA-only Fund, a Women’s Fund, a Personal Housing Fund, a Youth Fund for those 24 and younger, a Single Parent Fund, and an Honor/Memorial Wall Fund.
