Never again!......Technology to the rescue Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 27 Dec 2019 05:49:56 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Everyone who frequents the 9-3SS forum probably saw that our car threw a CEL 300 miles from home, 300 miles from my code reader, and on a Holiday weekend. On a SAAB 9-5 FB forum I recently saw an ad for a WiFi OBD2 adapter which allows a cellphone to act as a Code Reader and CEL Re-set tool (after inexpensive app download). So I ordered one for each of our cars so that the stress of not knowing what is wrong, can I fix it my self easily, is it safe to drive home, do I need to secure a service appointment, etc., will never again interrupt a special trip.
I chose the free delivery option, 10-20 days from the UK, so it will be a while before I know if this was money well spent. I caught the end of their 75% Off Sale so even a total bust will not be an expensive mistake.
