These devices are inexpensive and very convenient. They are OBDII only, so no ABS/SRS/etc codes.
My '99 throws an evap code every week or so. rather than drop the tank to fix the crack in the sensor mount I just leave the adapter plugged in 24x7. I clear the code with 2 swipes on my phone at a stoplight.
