My wife's 9-5 had a pretty bad vibration when braking while going down the hill to our house. Replacing the rotors helped, but didn't eliminate it. I finally bought a cheap runout gauge at Harbor Freight and found that even the new rotors were slightly out of spec. A couple of pieces of aluminum foil under the low spots on the hub got everything within spec, and the vibrations were eliminated. My mom's old Pontiac Grand Prix also had vibration problems when braking. My dad had never replaced rotors on any of his Hondas, and refused to believe that the rotors could be an issue, so one day while they were out for the day in their other car, I bought a new set of rotors at NAPA, installed them, and that fixed the issue. Considering the cost, replacing rotors seems like a good place to start for me, especially since it's fixed issues on a couple of cars in the past.
