Thinking of a #GivingTuesday donation or end of year donation? Most of you know I founded one non-profit in 2008, but many don't know I started a second in 2021. Reab about them below!
Thanks,
-Scott

Hi Friends of Scott/Coach Scott,
Many of you know that I founded this non-profit in 2008!
P2P has exciting news for #GivingTuesday! We are adding a fund (our 15th) to support Artisans and we have been offered $7,500 in 100% matching funds to start it! Artisans have some of the highest repayment rates of any loans we currently make. For example, one of our partners, Novica, has a 100% repayment rate so far! That's not a single defaulted loan in over 9 years! Because these artists are selling their goods, more often than not, they repay their loans back to us EARLY! Please help us start the Artisans Fund with your #GivingTuesday donation:
https://Poverty2Prosperity.org/donations.html
If the Artisan Fund doesn't interest you, we have funds for youth (24 & under), single parents, women entrepreneurs, USA-only borrowers, education, personal housing, and an honor/memorial fund to recognize someone in your life. You can pick the fund on our donations page!
About P2P: We have been making 0% interest loans since 2008 and have made ~25,000 loans with a 99.45% repayment rate. We have a 100% volunteer staff, so since 2008, over 97% of donations have gone directly into our loan-making program. When we receive repayments, we put them right back out in the form of new loans. Due to our repayment rate, the founding donation we received in 2008 will still be making loans in 2100.
Thanks,
-Scott

Hi Run Club and Former GOTR Parents,
In the Fall of 2020 when most after-school athletic programs were completely shut down, Coach Scott decided to take the Encinal running team and turn it into an official United States Track & Field youth running club and Run Club Menlo Park was born. I was able to coach 16 girls in Fall 2020 and 26 girls in Spring 2021 at Holbrook Palmer Park thanks to town of Atherton granting us a permit. We had just enough money to cover the costs of renting the North Meadow for our practices. We are now a fully qualified federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit incorporated in California.
Some of the girls in my first season coaching (5th graders) are now freshman at Menlo Atherton High School. Because we are now an independent running club, I am no longer limited to 3rd-5th graders and I even have one 3rd grader from that first season that is still training with me now as a 7th grader at Hillview. That first season we had 14 girls on the team from Encinal. This past Fall 2021 season, I coached 42 girls from 7 different schools (Encinal, Oak Knoll, Laurel, Hillview, Nativity School, Peninsula School, and Addison Elementary [Palo Alto]). I was also able to give this team the opportunity to race at the highest level of competition available in the United States to girls this age as they ran two USATF Cross Country races (Castro Valley & Golden Gate Park) taking 9 top 10 finishes. They finished the season with a final 5K race at the Brisbane Turkey Trot for Charity. The girls took the top 5 places in the race - not just in the girls category, but for all ages female category.
Run Club continues to be THE least expensive after-school program offered through MPCSD (we train for 10 weeks, twice a week - 90 minutes per practice). The more girls we have running, the more they help each other to excel. We offer full and partial scholarships for girls who would not otherwise be able to afford to participate in our program and we'll even buy running shoes for them too! We have a 100% volunteer staff including all coaches. This season, Run Club was also able to pay all race entry fees for any girl who wanted to try competing in races. Furthermore, for any girl who qualifies to race at national competitions, Run Club will pay their travel costs so they get that opportunity too!
So, if you're considering making a #GivingTuesday donation this year (November 30th) or just thinking about end of year donations, perhaps consider making a tax-deductible donation to Run Club Menlo Park (EIN: 86-2383588)!! You can find the link to our donations page at the top of our web site (and other cool information about our season):

The First Rule of Run Club: Have Fun!
Thanks,
-Coach Scott
