What model are you looking at? Jimmy's advice is good of course, but it's pretty much impossible to find rust free SAABs up here in Canada at this point. It's really a question of not buying cars with too much rust. For the most part, rust repair on these is welding/auto body work, so if you can do that, great. If you are in the US and can travel to the southwest, that would be a good idea. Some models can look good on the surface but need subframe replacement due to rust. So check carefully. Rust you see is usually the tip of the iceberg.
