I broke cable 2 years ago - at about 60k miles. No sign of damage to clutch then or since (done another 30k miles). And I do not recall many posts saying the clutch was damaged when the cable broke. Rather in most cases, the cable was replaced and people were back in action. If you must use the dealer for the repair, then tell them to just replace the clutch. That is a relatively simple job. To do any work on the clutch itself is major (they have to drop the transmission to get at the clutch works). Drive the car and see how the clutch feels - and look for a SAAB inependent mechanic
