The owner is wealthy. Wealthy enough that the $10K loss doesn't mean anything to him. The landscape business is FAR more than flowers, bushes, trees, and grass cutting.

The car actually belongs to the wife! It has sat in the garage for seven years because she feels it is too small and she prefers driving her luxury SUV. "I'm bored with it, get rid of it." Per my co-worker the recent service was less than I initially thought too, deferred maintenance items only and not a major go-through of all systems.

Although not related to car's condition or history, the owners' son plays for the New York Islanders.

Since my wife has already given me the OK to buy it, and suggested we could loan it out to our two sons (ages 28 and 30 with squeaky clean driving records) ocassionally for their summer driving enjoyment, I should probably go look at it.
