I drive that fast all the time if it was legal here, but (sigh) it's not. However there are times and places that 80-90 is commuting norm. And then you slow down to 15mph for 30 minutes. I travel alot on a routine basis and get to drive in the southwest high desert, 85-100 cruising is typical. Not much humidity but 100+F temps are summertime normal. I've always used Mobil-1, changes at 5,000 miles, saab filters (Oil and Air) and NGK plugs. I've always driven my Saabs with gusto, but try to take care of them replacing what is needed to keep the car, and *me*, happy. my 1992 9000CDT auto has turned over 260,000 miles, needing only a headgasket after an overheat caused by a failed thermostat. Two transmissions, one at 40k undere warranty, one at 140k (remember - never shift from reverse to drive until the car completely stops!!!!!), and lots of pads and a couple of rotor sets.
curious hot your temp gauge reads? Mine usually sits just below level, even on hot days at 90mph.
The engine has always run well, never done an "engine flush" with anything, so I'll keep pushing the gas pedal...
