I think it's just a cultural thing. Posted by AdamB [Email] (#3) [Profile/Gallery] (more from AdamB) on Sun, 4 Mar 2007 09:03:00 In Reply to: vigge the wet blanket, jak [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 4 Mar 2007 07:46:24 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
People from Scandinavia, (especially Sweden and Finland), can generally be pretty blunt about things. They tend to say what they mean without any positive slant, but also without any mal-intent. They wouldn't expect anything else from their peers and can thus appear rude and insensitive to people who aren't used to it. People from the States (atleast in my experience) tend to be extremely positive, sometimes bordering to the unrealistic. You know everything is "COOL" "WOW" "AWESOME" etc. ;)
Both ways have their advantages and disadvantages and the differences can lead to misunderstandings. Hopefully it's enough of a common element here that we all like our Saabs and love to tinker with them. :)
PS: Yes I know it's gross generalization with lots of exceptions and I'll probably get flamed by both sides, but this is just my "2 kroner".
