If it's like the OEM oil temperature guage, with the sender in the oil pan drain plug, I think it's pretty useless. When it was in our '81 I figured that when you really needed it was in winter, but with the sender in the bottom, in the cold, it was be inaccurately low. And the wiring was prone to failure.
