Center of Balance for engine when pulling Posted by notnoel [Email] (#23) [Profile/Gallery] (more from notnoel) on Mon, 10 Mar 2008 09:35:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just pulled the engine/tranny from my donor car last night using the hook at the front of the head (for my 5-speed conversion). When I pulled it, the back end hung very low, and while this posed no real problems, It got me to start thinking about this issue later when I pull my engine/tranny from the good car, and more importanatly, when I put the finished product back into the car. Tt seems like if I attached another chain to maybe the alternator adjustment arm, or the AC compressor, that I'd get a level hanging engine that would be much easier to line up with the motor mounts.
So, ... anybody got any advice on hooking up the hoist, or better yet pictures. I figure someone here must have perfected a system to get the thing to go in and out -- straight up and down. TIA for any pointers you might offer.
