If you put stiffer springs in (they don't actually have to be lower, but they usually are) you will help eliminate wheel spin. The problem is that on acceleration, the load shifts off the front to the rear. If you stiffen the rear springs, they will fight the shift and keep weight on the front. Stiffer valved shocks will also help slow the transfer and by you some time to get rolling. With RWD, the weight shift was actually helpful in putting weight on the drive wheels. This is a disadvantage with FWD.

After that, as noted, it's all driving technique. Even with far less HP and an MBC I have the issue. When I need to pull out quickly, I usually hit the gas to spin up the turbo, but then I back off as it starts to spin up, the car rolls, and I can mash the gas again.

Bottom line though - FWD cars are not "drag racers". If your goal is to get out of parking lots more gracefully, you can compensate with mods and technique. If it's to run at the drag races - you're SOL.
