Take the screw out Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 6 Jul 2012 13:20:04 In Reply to: pic, Paul in NM, Fri, 6 Jul 2012 13:06:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
1) Remove the screw from the clamp
2) Slide the clamp onto the GS Cobra behind the flange
3) Rotate the Cobra toward the radiator to get space between it and the engine
4) Align the Cobra with the Turbo inlet, there should be a machined face to the flange which will slip into the turbo inlet but maybe this is what is missing on the GS version.
5) With the pipe aligned, expand the clamp and slip it over both the Cobra flange and the Turbo Flange.
6) Insert the screw and tighten most of the way
7) Rotate the Cobra into its correct position and tighten the screw fully.
If there is no machined face on the Cobra flange you may need a second person working from below to assist with the align and hold while slipping the clamp over both flanges.
Does the GS Cobra have the split pin in the flange face? If so, is this interfering with the clamp body?
