agreed. however, recent timing changes have yeilded large results. over-retardation seems to have been a big part of the issue. shortly after the ic install, i reset stock timing. then duplicated it with the btm. now, slowly venturing beyond to get more. stock power at top was much greater because max retard was only 11 dbtdc as opposed to the 9.5-10 dbtdc i originally has set. now its moving slowly between 11-12 as i gradually advance to get more power. butt dyno has shown considerable results. my only guess is that the larger turbo spinning at 16-17 psi was producing a considerable amount of heat (as shown seen at the first dyno run). thus requiring a greater amount of timing retard to keep from hitting predet. the fmic seems to have cured a big portion of that problem. (a larger turbo should move more air at lower pressure than stock, but a larger turbo and stock turbo running at the same pressure, i would assume the larger would create more heat; thus exceeding the cooling capacity of the stock ic) now, timing is advancing more and power is showing itself. fwiw, i spoke with sean, doug and rob and all seem to think that the cams should not be an issue. so, i'm moving in the timing direction for now, we'll see how it pans out. additionally, when the stock cams were last taken out, i noticed a huge difference in the ability of the engine to breath at higher rpm. didn't realize it until the hot ones were in, but don't know if i really want to go back to that 'starved' feeling.

as far as the fan, i did notice a considerable amount of air moving through the ic when the rad fans were on (after parking, until they kicked off). i am first debating just putting a switch with a relay to have a manual override for the stock fans (seemingly a cheap and effective fix). also, having mixed feeling about putting another block in the air flow out front right now. but that's just my guess...
