Hello again, and help???

See following for history if desired, but upshot what that my ECU (yes, the whole thing, not a reprogram, failed in service and performance of new ECU was considerably softer than original.
History: http://viggen.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/performance/index.html?bID=5404

Since then, I've managed to hang on to my Viggen thru 2 layoffs and now 19 months of unemployment (IT Worker). It now has just over 17K miles. Problem is the performance is getting weaker: 1st & 2nd gear only move the boost gauge to 1/2 way & 3/5ths way respectively. Took car into dealer for 30K service (3 years is long enough for all the fluids, etc).

While at the dealer, they looked into the performace problem, stuck in a new ECU and boost valve, loaded the latest program & told me to drive it for awhile. I noticed the boost was no longer kicking into the 20 seconds of Max Boost in 3rd-5th after the service, and only got 4/5ths the way up the gauge. On the off chance I got bad fuel, I burned that out (was Shell 93 premium) & refilled with Amoco/BP 93 Premium. Same result. And yes, I was very careful to drive it as hard as possible from the very beginning, including redline in 3rd and as far as I could take it in 4th & 5th.

Now things are getting worse: in the last 1000 RPM in 3rd, the boost actually starts dropping off. It has never done this before, not even when I got it back from service. Dealer suggested I call SAAB customer service, explain the problem, and bring the car back in. Did so, got call back today from SAAB USA Customer service.

Turns out they are entirely closing the claim: SAAB has a disclaimer that updates to the emission control system can reduce performance! >>:-<<

Horrified, I called back my dealer. Appearently, SAAB USA talked to him directly and he also is cut off from doing any more work on the performance under warantee! >>:-<< >>:-<<

This was my dream car: I've owned 6 SAABs so far and really went out on a wire to get this car -- and managed to hold onto it partially by draining my retirement accounts.

Enough crying: Can anyone help with the following:

1. Actual experience or recommendations with aftermarket ECU's on Viggens?
2. Clues on what might be going on here? Only aftermarket part is a K&N airfilter in the correct original size -- this has been the single good thing as now I can actually hear some intake noise at throttle WFO.
3. A premo SAAB mechanic in the Chicagoland area? Or in the nearby Mid-West??
4. Similar experiences??

Any help would be greatly appreciated -- I don't even know if I could sell it now...even if I could stand to loose it <:-(

Thanks in advance!
