Hello Cort, my favorite turbo for your better flowing 2.1 head is the TE05 but with a 16G compressor wheel and a large thrust bearing. The Garrett's are known for more volume but you can do the same thing with the 16G wheel upgrade on your TE05. We were told that the Garret is more dependable but if one is upgraded with used parts (even good ones) the turbine wheel has more mass and is more likely to pitch a blade off and break at the friction weld if too much boost is run which causes the turbo to over RPM. If we do anymore T3's they will get a brand new turbine wheel so we're not pushing a used part beyond it's limits. So far we haven't had any failures with a TE05 / 16G combo. Remember that a 2.1 head flows so well that if you have larger injectors etc. to support the extra flow you need to keep your boost to a reasonable level so you don't run the risk of exploding your turbo! Also you're not making more power from 18 to 22 psi to figures above these with a stock inter cooler, just heating the air up! You can run more boost with a bigger turbo (T3 / T4) without over speeding it but then there's more lag! I like the TE05 with a 16G wheel and balanced to the ridiculous levels that I balance Saab engines to by comparison for a lot of reasons. Take care, Dave
