The car run in 1997 was kind of a forerunner to the Viggen - it had an Aero Engine with the TD04, but IIRC, it was destroked to 2.0 liters. It put out 300bhp and 300 lbs of torque, and was run by a company out of chicago area, who's name escapes me. They won their class, which was Group 5, but pulled out after that.

The reason I say that the C900 is more likely to need transmission work is, even N/A C900's seem to need a major transmission overhaul somewhere between 80-150,000 miles. I haven't heard about this being so common on the NG. Maybe somebody conclusively knows otherwise? There is a very nice and very strong 4-speed transmission available for the C900, I think Gary Moore (GM on here) sells it, and I think it can be had with an LSD. If you are putting 300 bhp through the front wheels on a rally car, you are going to need a lot of transmission rebuilds, if you are getting the maximum out of the car.
