There are two important "accuracies" when it comes to Dynos. First is repeatability. If it gives different results each time, it's useless, of course. As you point out, most dynos are repeatable, and therefore accurate tuning aids. Your car clearly is making more power now than before.
However, it's impossible to compare one dyno run to another if the dynos or settings are different. One important point that most people ignore is the "Correction" that's applied. It might be called an SAE correction, which is meant to balance dyno readings at different temps, humidities, etc, but is really just a multiplier. You can set the "correction" on one dyno to 1.19 and all of a sudden have 20% more power than a truly uncorrected dyno result.
Also, different dyno brands and model are higher or lower than others. A Dyno Dynamics will give far different results than a Mustang or Dynapack. Spreads are 40hp or more on cars like my STi, and that's with the same correction.
All I'm pointing out is to nickR that he can't really compare his car with his mods on his dyno to your car with your mods on your dyno. Just because your dyno results are higher doesn't mean his car is making less power.
:)
Sport Compact Car ran a 14.2 on a 2003 SRT-4 at 99.5mph. The '03 didn't have a limited slip like the 04s do. I've seen good drivers run 13.9 on 04s, but granted your weather is hotter and damper than here in MD. And certainly a (properly driven) Evo on the track will always walk away from a Saab - there's just no replacement for all that traction, unfortunately.
