You said it more precisely :)
I think +/- 7 HP would be the holy grail of dyno accuracy, but I suspect there's no driving force that would convince dyno makers to converge that closely.
Stock STis put out around 220 horsepower on a Dyno Dynamics Dyno, and 260 on a Dynapack. Here's two links:
http://www.vishnutuning.com <-- They use a Dyno Dynamics that reads approx 220 at the wheels.
http://www.turboxs.com <-- They use a Dynapack which reads about 264 at the wheels.
I haven't dyno'd my STi yet, but others with my setup are running about 280-290 peak whp, and about 300-310lb-ft of torque before custom tuning. I have dabbled a bit in tuning it myself, but I'm still waiting for a bigger turbo and fuel upgrades before I bother to have it professionally tuned.
This is the first car I've raced - in decent weather on my third run I ran a 13.5 at 98mph stock, in warmer weather a best of 13.2 at 103 with an exhaust, and in really hot/humid weather the other day (95 degrees and about 80% humidity), I ran 13.3 at 103 with intake, exhaust, and engine management (ECU) upgrades. When there's a nice dry friday (haven't seen one in months) I'll get some better times. I should easily be in the 12s now, but I'm still a pretty inconsistent driver. The nice thing about the aftermarket engine management is the ability to do complete tuning on your own, on the fly - something I really wish had been available for my Saab. Even with the stock turbo, I have boatloads of torque in the midrange now - it pretty much screams on the highway, but it's never enough :-)
