Bearing is in stock at Northern Power Products 1 800 284 6247. P/N EA98626B. I believe this is the Ford number not the Saab number or the bearing mfg number. I believe the bearing includes the shaft and it is not separable, so am puzzled about the Scandia part as a "shaft." It may be the correct part but poor nomenclature.
You can leave the timing cover and bearing and shaft all in place if there is really good clearance. Recognize that the engine will move a bit when driving. It has been mentioned to use a pusher fan in front of the radiator (be careful it's a different fan than a puller) but I haven't done it that way. I used a Subaru fan, probably from a Loyale, the model that preceded the Legacy.
There is a variant on the timing cover that was used on industrial engines with divorced radiators, that is flat on the front and does not accomodate a bearing. NPP might have one. That makes the niftiest installation.
