I had the typical bad brake light pressure switch problem. I ordered a switch that looked right and fits Healey's from Moss Motors. Had to order two since they wouldn't ship if the order is under $10. They may have the right one but I got two that didn't fit. After removing the old one, just for grins I pushed a blunt-ended rod into the switch and exercised it a bit. Put it back in and wife says, no lights.
Ordered Ashcraft's kit and installed it. Hat it all in and ready to hook up and went to remove the fuse. I had already taken it out. Before switching over to Ashcraft's switch put in the fuse and tried it again. Wife says, it works! Oh well.
For any who want to put in the Ashcraft kit, be advised I found that the distance from the bottom of the bracket to the center line of the switch hole had to be 3-3/8", not the 2-1/2" for the bracket supplied. I used aluminum stock, same width and thickness, to rebuild the bracket. It's a bit tricky to install and get the travel and contact to the tab just right.
I wish I had ordered a different switch from Moss. This looks more like the original than what I ordered. Try https://mossmotors.com/switch-brake-lights-lucas-terminals-tapered-seat To install pinch off the hose from the reservoir with a pair of needle nose vice grips. Remove the fuse before disconnecting the wires so you don't short it out.
