Water Injection

You may remember my asking you some questions about water injection =
approximately 1 month ago.=20

Well after much testing and tweaking (with some help from Saabnet =
friends (you know who you are Ravi!!!)). I am proud to announce that my =
system has been a success. I fitted it into my car approximately 3 weeks =
ago. From the moment it was fitted I noticed a significant power =
difference.

My water injection system actually monitors manifold pressure, from this =
it calculates how much water your engine needs to provide more torque. =
It then injects this water into the engine via your air system (after =
intercooler), resulting in denser air being sucked into the engine. My =
computer is set to introduce water into the engine at just below base =
boost, as my boost increases, the power to my water pump is increased =
resulting in the LED bar chart slowly illuminating up to full scale. =
Your fuel computer sees that more air is being sucked into the engine, =
and therefore provides more fuel. The result is a significant increase =
in torque right through the rev band, and odd enough an increase in fuel =
efficiency. Not only do you get more torque, but you can set your =
engine to run more boost as well, since the air in the cylinders is =
cooler, engine knock will not occur, therefore you can increase your =
boost pressure significantly (approx. 4-5 PSI), without the risk of your =
engine detonating. Also as your kicking it at +max boost, your engine is =
being steam cleaned, resulting in no carbon build up in cylinders or on =
valves.=20

In my car I have connected my pump into the main windscreen washer =
bottle. This bottle holds approximately 1 gallon of water (4.44l). At =
the moment I am finding it necessary to fill this bottle once every two =
weeks, and I do use the full boost quite a lot. If my computer detects =
that your water level is low, it will switch into 'water save mode', in =
this mode the computer will not inject water until you are just below =
full boost, therefore still saving your engine from knock, and saving =
water by not introducing it from below base boost.

I have had my computer fitted to my car for three weeks, and other than =
1 small teething problem, which I have now rectified, the system works =
perfectly.=20

The computer consists of the following :-

1. Pressure sensor
2. Computer
3. LED bar chart and Status lights
4. Instruction booklet (Inc. colour pictures of my installation)

I have spent a considerable amount of time developing this system, and =
with a little help from friends, it has turned out to be a complete =
success. I am thinking of offering this system to any saabnet customer =
thats interested. If you are interested in getting approximately 25% =
increase in Hp(as calculated by my saabnet friend), then please drop me =
a line. If I receive enough interest, then I will start building these =
computers for people.

I know the system works well, and it looks very cool as the LED Bar =
chart lights up the way it does. Everyone I've had in my car thinks its =
an economy meter, until I stamp my foot down (its an auto =
transmission)...... After they have finished screaming, and having a =
small heart attack, I explain to them what it is...... there response? =
...... 'I'll walk back thanks!!!'.
