'Intelligent French Engineering ? Puhh-leeeaze !'

You seem to have a problem with French engineers.

As far as cars are concerned, they were the first to build high speed
engines with double overhead cams and four valves per cylinder back in the
early 1900s. I think it was Peugeot who brought them out. That engine later
became the basis for the Offys that ran in Indy cars for decades. That was
at a time when Mercedes had 10 liter behemoths chugging along. Then there
was the Citroen in the 30s that pioneered front wheel drive in larger sedans
and the hydraulic suspension in the 50s that smoothed out rutted roads
better than any car before or since. Recently, it was Renault that perfected
turbo engines in Formula 1 and won a bunch of championships with them. These
days they have 20, 000 RPM engines for Formula 1 with pneumatically actuated
valves. Then there is the Airbus which has humbled Boeing and the Concorde
that didn't crash for 30 years until a Continental DC-10 dropped part
brought it down and then the TGV, the fastest trains in Europe. The list
goes on for quite awhile, but you get the idea, or do you?
