Heater Valve

I have a problem I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me how to
fix myself! The valve that controls the water to enter into the
heater core/heater is broken. I replaced the heater core in 98.
Scandia Autosport in SEattle did the work and it was excellent.
They say the repair for the broken valve will be about $300. Is
there anyway I can fix this myself? I haven't been able to locate
a valve to replace the broken one. Any advice and instructions
would be awesome. Feel free to reply directly to me at

Thanks so much,
Samantha
