Air Mixing Valve

I have a '92 9000 with an ACC that does not work properly. No mater
what I try, it only gives rely hot air. The compressor is broken,
which means that cooling function is not working, but it should still
be possible to get non-heated air. Checked the servo behind the
dashboard and the cable to the air-mixing valve, and it seems to
respond properly to changes in set temperature. Removed the cover
over the fan and heater, and saw the arm in the other end of the
cable turning as well. My conclusion is that the air-mixing valve
itself is broken. Am I right?

As I have understood, I have to remove the hood, the cover over
the fan, the wiper motor, the wall between the engine and the heat
elements and a lot of stuff. It seems to be quite a time consuming
job... Is there any other way to get to this valve and check its
function? I'm grateful for any ideas.

Warm regards,
Andreas Dernfalk
